Trifold Shutter Card

Here is my attempt at making a Tri-Fold Shutter Card found from a tutorial I found on Splitcoaststampers.com.  It is a great site if you need some inspiration, like I always do.  The supplies I used were from the CTMH Workshops On The Go Skylark Scrapbook Kit (G1072) which includes  the  Skylark Assortment (z3000) , Lagoon and Kraft papers.  Additional items used are Skylark Complements (X7177c) and a stamp set from the Cricut Artiste Collection (Z1790) called Word Balloons for the sentiment.  I am going to send this to my SIL to cheer her up. I am pleased at how it turned out.  It was not hard to do so I am hoping to show this technique to our community Paper Arts Club when we start back up in the fall. I will post the cutting directions below.

CTMH Workshops On The Go Skylark Scrapbook Kit will be discontinued at the end of July.  Please go to my website to see all the retiring products.  The new catalog will be available August 1st.

Directions:
Start with a 5½  x 12" piece of cardstock and place it horizontally on your scoreboard.
Score at the 2", 4", 8" and 10".
Turn the paper ¼  and along the long edge, measure in 1½ and make a slit between the 2" and 10" score marks.  Turn paper to the other side and repeat.  Fold the card as pictured above.
Measurements for the decorative paper :
4 pieces at 1 3/8 x 1 7/8
2 pieces at 1 3/8 x 3 7/8
1 piece at  2 3/8 x  3 7/8
2 pieces at 2 3/8 x 1 7/8
2 pieces at 5 3/8 x 1 7/8 and if you want to mat those cut 2 at 5¼ x 1 3/4

Had fun making this card...thanks for stopping by!

Another attempt at Cluster (resist) stamping

I believe I may be getting better at this, but it's only my opinion.
Used CTMH Stamp set D1574 Take Note from the Cricut Collection Artbooking for the sentiment and one star.  Plain star is from a set called Boy Crazy from My Minds Eye.
Inks: VersaMark; CTMH Desert Sand; Black; Lagoon
Same technique embossing the sentiment and then cluster stamping from the inside of the sentiment out. After stamping wipe with paper towel the ink off the sentiment and it helps make it pop out. I do think the small accent stamps work better!

See you next time for a new project I am going to attempt: Tri-fold shutter card! Wish me luck!!!!

Clustering Stamping

Experimenting with different stamping techniques and ran across a website to try what they call cluster stamping or resisted stamping.  So I am experimenting and here are some results so far.
Items used: VersaMark ink pad; Clear embossing powder; favorite sentiment stamp; other accent stamps; favorite contrasting colors.
I started out stamping my sentiment with the VersaMark ink and embossed it on a 3 3/4 x 5 white mat.  Then took my other  stamp and you start stamping where the sentiment is and work out making it look like it flows from the middle out.  After stamping use paper towel and wipe the ink off the sentiment..since the embossed sentiment resists the ink it makes it pop out more.  It's still a work in progress!!!!
