Valentine Inspired!

Well. it is cold outside!  So I decided to work in my craft room and chose a Valentine Card for a change of pace!  Love my new tool...the new Cricut Explore...it cuts great just like my Silhouette Cameo.  Nice getting smooth cuts utilizing my many.....Cricut cartridges!  The card idea came from a Close to my Heart card making kit and I did my own twist to it. It had a stamped heart on it and I used my cricut to cut a fancy heart out instead!  A simple but pretty card!  I think the community club here will like it!

Scrapbook Layout

Took a break from all the hustle and bustle of the Holiday rush and created a scrapbook layout for our community club for next month!  I just love the bright colors of the Hopscotch Paper Packet  from Close to my Heart.  I also cut the title from the Heritage Cricut Cartridge and the brackets from the Close to my Heart Artbooking Cartridge.  I also used some of my homemade "enamel" dots!  The strips I used a square punch to notch the ends since I am not very good doing it free hand. Used the stamp set A Bunch of Thanks and True to Life from CTMH.  I really like how it turned out.

Christmas Projects

Finally today, I finished my Christmas gifts for my church group.  I made glitter ornaments and then cut their names and year out on vinyl and placed it on the outside of the ornament.  Then I found on you-tube how to make ornament boxes.  I don't think I did a bad job for my first time!  Check it out!

Luminaries for the Holidays

Many of you may know I follow Cardz TV blog and one day she had a video on how to make luminaries from vellum paper and using the battery tea-lights from the dollar store.  I decided to try it for Thanksgiving but it can also be used for Christmas and any holiday you celebrate. It is all in the cutout you use.  I made several and placed them all around the house.  It was so simple!  I used my Cricut but if you have a metal die or punch, that would certainly work.  Check her video out and see how easy it is.

New Techniques

I am finally posting pictures,as previously posted, of a card making class I took last week.  Who would of thought you could use a dryer sheet to make a card.  Well, we learned that and a few other techniques at my friend, Cheryl Goode's class.  The pictures do not do it justice.  The top card is the one using a dryer sheet!

Had tons of fun..

3 great cards using different techniques!

Took a class today at my friend, Cheryl Goode's house.  Came out with 3 outstanding cards.  One was a technique using a mask or stencil and inked our design on the card mat.  That technique was such a coincidence because I just saw yesterday a YouTube about using stencils or masks and was going to try it out for our club project. I think I am going to love this!  Of course hers turned out so much better but as I always say, It's a one of a kind!!!  The lines are the mask we used and we used daubers to place the two different color inks.  Everyone's turned out different!

The second card we did,  we used a stamp set that imitates brush strokes and after stamping them on watercolor paper, we spritzed with water and then brushed some of the ink on the the blank spots.

The third and last card was what she called a cupcake challenge.  We embossed only part of the mat and then used daubers to put some color on the blank side.  Used green ribbon to give a separation between the embossed side and blank side.  There should be a bow but I am not very good with those so I just tied a knot.  Used her cupcake stamp set and die set for the cupcake and then I added sequins.   The reason she called it the cupcake challenge was whoever did the best design got a prize.  Well I won but it was a close call.  It came between two of us and we had to call out a number between 1 and 10 and I guessed right.  Thank you Cheryl for a great afternoon!!!

Another Halloween Card Inspiration

Another card inspired by Mary at Cardztv.  She certainly makes you think outside the box.  Never would have thought to do this.  I love the new Close To My Heart Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge!
The cat pocket card was cut from page 44 of the Artfully Sent cartridge and the spider from page 43.

I also used my polka dots embossing folder on the purple paper background.  Some purple sequins and some clear gems for the eyes.

Please check out my site to purchase the new CTMH Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge and any CTMH products!

Arizona Greeting Card

Stumbled upon a cute little paper arts store here locally called The Paper Collage.  They carry unusual items that you would certainly not find at the common stores.  Of course, I could not leave without buying something.  Here is one of the stamp sets I bought and the card made using it.

Used my Cricut cartridge called Southwest for the sun and cactus landscape.  Embossing folder called Charles and dusted it lightly with Stampin Up Bashful Blue ink.

Scrapbook Expo 2014

Wow..what a day I had Friday.  Went to Scrapbook Expo in Mesa and what fun!  I took 3 classes and learned a lot and saw a lot of new tools or should I say toys.  The first workshop I took was making four cards for Christmas using Spellbinders dies.  I loved all the dies we used but did restrain myself from buying them all.

They did however come out with a new tool that I just could not go without.  We used it in the workshop and works really great.

The second workshop was coloring techniques and they gave us 6 Spectrum Noir Markers and practice sheets.  They explained different ways to coloring and also had us use colored pencils and showed different ways to use them.  Of course since I found the pencils easier to use then the markers I just had to buy some.....So look out Paper Arts Club, guess what we will be playing with.  We can learn together.

The 3rd workshop was just about all the new tools that came out or going to come out this year and early next year.  We got a bag full of products and guess what?  They had the new spellbinder tool in it so now I have two.  Can't have too many.  Also received the new We R Memories Keepers Flower Punch Board and a flower stem kit.  Excited to play with that.
So many tools and not enough time.....LOL...

Butterfly Birthday Card

Had some time today and decided to do another birthday card!  I love butterflies so I used my Sizzix stamp and die set.  Also found some 1 1/2 inch squares when de-cluttering my scrap room that I had for a long time.  Instead of throwing them out I decided this would be good for a card.  I was either going to use it or lose it!  Sometimes there is just too much stuff!  Also embossed two thirds of the card with an Anna Griffin Olivia Lace Cuttlebug folder.
Let me know what you think!

Dutch Fold Card Technique

Did another Dutch Fold Card for our local Paper Arts Club techniques class which is starting back up next month!  Really excited, miss getting together!

Still trying to get the hang of taking pictures of my projects.  I am going to have to make a backdrop to get better pictures.

Used my Cricut Mini Monsters Cartridge to cut out  this cute little monster.  Stamp sets used are from CardzTv stamp sets Trick or Treat and More Spooky Sayings.  7mm wiggle eyes  are from Walmart.  White Daisy Cardstock from CTMH, the rest of the paper was from my stash.

By the way my new Cricut cartridge should be arriving tomorrow...so excited!!!
