Going through my stash of paper packs, I found another retired CTMH Paper Pack called Skylark.  I decided to use some for a birthday card for my niece.  I hope she likes it!  Forgive the pictures, I am still  trying to figure out how to take good pictures to post!

"More" Christmas In July!

Love Christmas..it is my top favorite Holiday!  I got motivated to make these cards after I had gone to a recent cardmaking class and we did Christmas Cards.  So I went through my stash of soon to be retired papers and made a few more cards.  The first one I did, using the Iris folding technique (which I am still trying to perfect) and leftover paper from the CTMH Snowhaven Cardmaking kit (which is available while supplies last).  I did find the paper too thick, so I had to use paper I bought a long time ago from a local craft store since it was thinner.   So the trick to iris folding is use thinner paper not cardstock.   I used a soon to be released stamp set for the sentiment and some leftover glitter paper for a few sparkle highlights.  The tree I used was a template I had from many many years ago,so I scanned and traced it in my Cricut Explore so I wouldn't use my last one since I believe the company I got it from no longer exists.  So let me know what you think!

The card base was made using the CTMH White Daisy cardstock(1385) and the tree is popped up on a CTMH Cranberry (1272) cardstock mat.   CTMH Exclusive Cranberry Ink (Z2116) was used for the sentiment.

The other card, I was able to made from the leftovers I had from the WOTG Snowhaven Cardmaking Kit G1085.  Used the Silver Shimmer trim and the stamp set that was included.   The kit also comes with CTMH Cranberry Cardstock (1272) which I used for the card base and CTMH White Daisy Cardstock (1385) for the mat. I used CTMH Exclusive Cranberry Ink (Z2116) for the sentiment and CTMH Exclusive Glacier Ink (Z2641) for the snowflakes and distressed the edges with CTMH Exclusive Slate Ink (Z2173).  It was very fast and simple.

Christmas In July

Went to a workshop at my friend, Cheryl Goode's house, and had a blast making cards for Christmas.  Thank you Cheryl for the gifts and great ideas!  Our group had so much fun!  Delicious snacks too, thanks Susan!  So here is what we did!  I certainly still need practice!  Also, this was my first time doing a shaker card...way cool!

Treasure Friendship Card

In going through my stash of paper to see what I have that is retiring or being revised from CTMH, I found I had a paper pack called Paper Fundamentals: Enchantment Assortment. I decided to do a card using an idea I got from a Pinterest board I follow, Glenda Coffey, using the CTMH Stamp Set C1594 Treasure Friendship (which is not retiring)Yeah!  I did it a little different so I could use it for any occasion.  Here's what I came up with!

It's hard to tell but one side of this paper has the glossy design and the other side not!  Love the papers , not sure why I never used them, but they are retiring it and replacing it with new colors and designs.  So check out my website for this or any other items retiring.

Enchantment Cardstock Color Changes

Big changes are coming to our Exclusive Color palette!  The Enchantment color family is changing 7 of the colors, so 7 are retiring and 7 new ones are on their way.

So if you have any favorites now would be the time to get them.  The seven beautiful new colors are:

Eggplant, Fern, Peacock, Pomegranate,

Poppy, Saffron, and Sapphire!

Iris Folding Technique

Happy 4th of July Everyone! 

Had no plans today, so I thought I would work on a card technique that I have wanted to try for some time.  I had no idea how to do iris folding, so I bought a kit from HSN a few months ago when they had their craft day.  By the way, HSN had another craft day on July 1st and I managed not to buy anything!  Yeah...me!!  The kit is from 3 Birds Studio and it has all the directions and patterns with paper and cards.  Love it!  It was really easy!  Can't wait to show our community club this technique.  It was so much fun and depending on the paper you use, it can take on a whole different look.  All I have to do is finish decorating with a sentiment or embellishments.  Let me know what you think!
